Tom Henderson
1911-1982
Born Dunrossness. Tom was Shetland’s first museum curator, also a Councillor, and County Convenor 1960-63. A first-rate storyteller, and a fine writer of fact and fiction, he wrote articles, essays and stories which were published both locally and nationally.
A biography of Tom Henderson, The Seaman who founded a Museum, by J.Laughton Johnston, was published in 2021 by Shetland Amenity Trust.
