Laurence (Lollie) Graham, former English teacher and primary head teacher, from Tingwall. Scholar, writer and outstanding promoter of the dialect. He was editor of Shetland Crofters (1986), co-editor of MacDiarmid in Shetland (1992), Hjaltland (1993), and A Shetland Anthology (1998); and joint editor of the New Shetlander magazine 1956-1998, together with his brother John J. Graham. Selected poems published in Love’s Laebrack Sang (2000).
