Willie Robertson

b. 1948, in Muckle Roe, Willie Robertson now lives in Brae.  He is well-known in Shetland as an actor and writer of comedy, and has been a mainstay of Ronas Drama Group for many years.  He has written many scripts for the Drama Group, beginning with short sketches, and developing into full-length one-act comedies.  For the 2014 Shetland Drama Festival he wrote a serious and unusual play: a play based on a true event that took place in Shetland over 700 years ago. The play, which won the Drama Festival prize for best dialect script, was ‘1299’.
