Dialect e-book single is translation of Ann Cleeves story

'Mystery in da möld' published in Denmark by Forlaget Hetland

On the evening of Thursday 11th September, Keith Bergman, of the independent Danish publishing house Forlaget Hetland, will officially launch the dialect short story 'Mystery in da möld' as an e-book single, available in both Danish and Shetland dialect. The story was written by Ann Cleeves as 'Secrets of Soil'.  Keith Bergman, a Shetlander, has translated it with her permission. It will be downloadable  at http://forlagethetland.dk/shetlandsk/  and also through Denmark's library lending system.  In addition, it will appear in the New Shetlander magazine on September 19th.

Forlaget Hetland aims to publish translated works from English into Danish.  It has been in business for two years, and its publications include translations of Michael Palin, Hannah Kent, Ann Cleeves and Colin Cotterill.

The e-book publication is part of the Year of Shetland Dialect, and the launch event, which will take place in Fetlar, is part of the 24 Islands/ 24 Hours initiative by Shetland and Orkney Libraries.
