Screenplay dialect awards 2019
Peerie Mootie wins top dialect award
At Screenplay 2019, Shetland ForWirds again presented awards in two categories for the most effective use of dialect in a locally-made film.
Top prizes of £100 each went to: in the over-25 section, Stuart Hannay for the film Peerie Mootie an her Muckle Buits, a film version of the book by Valerie Watt and Mary Fraser; and in the under-25 category to Amber Grieve for 625 Miles, reflecting on homesickness.
Roseanne Watt's film Kishie Wife, which won the overall audience award prize for short films, was a runner-up in the dialect awards.
