Christie leads Library dialect event

Open mic night of dialect readings

Poet Christie Williamson has been home briefly from Glasgow, leading a couple of local events organised by Shetland Library and funded by Live Literature.  The open mic dialect night in Shetland Library on 8 July was a happy event with a wide range of readings, both prose and poetry, favourite pieces and new work, and included a folk song from North-East Scotland by poet and singer Alexander Hutchison.  Christie and Alexander had also performed at  UnstFest on 6 July.

Christie read several poems he had just written.  His new poetry collection will shortly be published by Luath Press.
