George P S Peterson snips da ribbon ta launch wir new website.

George P S Peterson launches the website Around 50 folk gathered at a special event at Shetland Amenity Trust in Lerwick on Saturday 27 March 2010 to launch the Shetland ForWirds website.  Writer and storyteller George P S Peterson recited a peerie poem composed to commemorate the event before snipping a blue ribbon to reveal the site to the packed conference room.

Folk were given a brief tour of the site before being left to explore the pages for themselves over a buffet lunch.  Throughout the afternoon visitors dropped in to learn more about the site from website group members.

An Awards For All grant enabled us to develop the Shetland ForWirds website.

The site was developed by NB Communication Ltd building on the early work by Jonathan Church, Associate Professor of Anthropology, and colleagues at Arcadia University.
