Auld New Year Fjaana

Year o Shetland Dialect gets aff tae a lightsome start

Shetland ForWirds held an Auld New Year Fjaana in the Baila Room, Sound Hall, on Saturday 11 January.  It was a relaxed, well attended and very lightsome event: a mixture of poems, songs, stories and music, with bar facilities and a good eight o'clocks.  One of the highlights was a communal reading of Basil Anderson's classic poem, Auld Maunsie's Crö - everyone joined in! The event made a good beginning to the Year of Shetland Dialect.

Shetland ForWirds would like to thank everyone who contributed to the programme, or helped in any way.
